California is located on the west coast of the United States of America. It holds enough power in the country that its state-only environmental laws (set by the California Air Resources Board, or CARB) for vehicles often affect the country-wide version of vehicles. Sometimes a vehicle sold in California will have a "California Emissions" package installed, but it is often less expensive for a manufacturer to produce all of the vehicles sold in the United States to meet the stricter California standard so that there are fewer variants of their vehicles to keep track of. California is also one of the geographically largest states in the country, and the famous Route 66. The west border of the state is the Pacific Ocean, the southern border contacts Mexico, to the east it contacts Arizona and Nevada, and the northern border connects to Oregon.
