New York is located in The United States of America. New York shares its borders with many states and a country. To the north, the border consists of Canada, with New York and Canada sharing some of Lake Ontario. The eastern border is shared with three states, from north to south being Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. The southern border consists of, from east to west, the Atlantic Ocean, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, the latter of which partially wraps around New York's western border, and both states' borders meet Lake Erie. A stretch of land between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario connects New York's western border to Canada as well.
