Slide Hammer

A slide hammer is a tool that can be used to apply hammer-like force but away from the object instead of on/at it. Slide hammers often come as kits that consist of components that can be built into hooks and other attachment methods to adapt the slide hammer to whatever it needs to pull on. Pulling is sometimes the way parts have to be removed when hitting the object from behind can cause damage or just isn't accessible.

In automotive repair, these slide hammers are typically used to pull out damaged wheel hubs from steering knuckles, or to pull dents and hail damage from the various body panels they occur on.
