A fuel filter keeps debris from getting further down the fuel system, clogging and damaging components, such as fuel injectors. These filters need to be changed periodically, before they get clogged up. If a fuel filter is left on a vehicle for too long and gets clogged up, it can overwork the fuel pump, causing it to burn out and fail.

Fuel Pump Strainers

Fuel pump strainers are a type of filter that fuel has to pass through before it even reaches the fuel pump inside the fuel tank. This strainer is the only protection the fuel pump gets from the contaminants and sediment that winds up in the fuel tank.
