The pH scale is a way of describing the acidity or basicity of a chemical. Entertainment media may portray acids as a bubly chemical that eats through whatever it spills on, that portrayal is about as extreme as it can get. Orange juice is also acidic, but falls relatively close to the middle of the acidic end of the pH scale, with 1 being super acidic, 8 being neutral, and 14 being the most basic.
