The MX-3 is a compact four-seat hatchback coupé produced by Mazda from 1991 to 1998. The MX-3 was notable for having one of the lowest displacement V6 engines ever put in a production vehicle with its 1.8 liter V6 found in the V6 model. The inline-4 had 1.5 and 1.6 liter options. It was available with a four-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed manual transmission.
The MX-3 is becoming a rare car, so performance and replacement parts are becoming harder to come by. Because of this, many enthusiasts are opting into engine swaps in order to gain horsepower.
